From 1 January 2021, trading with the United Kingdom (UK) will be subject to customs formalities. With ACE Logistics, it is possible to send goods across Europe from businesses to private customers with the aceB2C service. When sending goods to private customers in the UK, the buyer (importer) of the goods should be preferably a company registered in the UK, but temporary clearance service on behalf of an Estonian company can be offered.
If the consignor (Estonian exporter) has registered a UK company, or has found a co-operation partner (UK company) who is the buyer of the goods on the invoice, then customs clearance of imports takes place in the United Kingdom on his behalf. The UK company has to comply the CRA (Customs Representation Authorization) for import formalities, which is sent to the UK company by Dachser before the goods are released. After receiving the signed CRA and checking the data by Dachser, we can ship the goods. In this case, Dachser Ltd represents the UK company in completing the import formalities. When placing the order, please mark in our system as the consignee of the goods is the UK company and the delivery address is the private person. From business to business, we recommend using DAP as a delivery condition.
If the consignor (Estonian exporter) does not have a UK partner (UK company) or registered company, please note that the Estonian exporter must register the GB EORI number https://www.gov.uk/eori and the GB VAT number in their own name. After registration (if GB EORI and GB VAT already exist), customer (Estonian exporter) has to fill and sign CRA Customs Representation Authorization (for not a UK residential company). In addition, if the consignor (or on whose behalf the import will be cleared) does not have his own Deferment Account in UK (one of the CRA’s conditions) and would like to use Dachser’s, this must be indicated accordingly on the document. Only incoterm DDP (delivered duty paid) can be used here, according to which the sender (Estonian exporter) is responsible for the import declaration formalities and paying VAT and customs duties in the UK. Dachser Ltd. in such case, represents the client (Estonian exporter) in completing the import formalities in the UK. After receiving the signed CRA and checking the data by Dachser, we can ship the goods. This solution can be offered and is recommended to use temporary, until a local partner is found or the company to UK is registered.
Please note, that due to the customs formalities and additional documentation requirements in trade with the UK, it has an effects also on the delivery times. We hope for your understanding.
